CAR KEY CHAIN
FOR
FATHER'S DAY
by Bluebonnet Crafters

Materials:

Instructions:

Fold the felt in half to form a 3" X 3 1/2" rectangle. Starting in the center of the folded edge draw a rectangle from the fold extending 3/4" about 1/2" wide. Draw the outline of your car with the front bumper at the end of the rectangle. Cut out the car shape with the rectangle attached to it. When you open it you should have a piece of felt 1 1/2" long by 1/2" wide joining the front bumpers of the two car shapes. Spread craft glue on one car shape, insert the second car shape through the key ring folding it over to match the first car shape. This will attach your car to the key ring by the folded tab. With the fabric paint outline the bumpers, windows, wheels and doors of your car adding any other details you choose and allow to dry. When dry turn it over and on the second car write # 1 Dad. Allow to dry.

CREEPLE PEOPLE
by Bluebonnet Crafters

Materials:

Instructions:

Separate the pre-cut felt feet leaving the paper backing over the sticky part. If using stick-on felt trace the shape of the foot piece on the paper side of the felt and cut out. Glue the large pompom centered on the felt side of the feet.

On the toe side of the large pompom glue the two wiggle eyes and the 1/4" pompom for nose appropriately placed. Glue on the hat. Option: in place of a hat you can use two flower stamens for antennae and give a friend a pet, a ribbon bow, a small strip of the felt as a headband with a feather in it or decorate any way with found objects or old jewelry, etc. Decorate in school colors and let them ride on your hat or shoulder or stick them on the bulletin board.

SUNCATCHER
by Bluebonnet Crafters

Materials:

*To make a substitute glass stain add food color to any white craft glue that dries clear. It will dry slightly darker, give transparent color and adhere to plastic.*

Instructions:

Draw your picture or trace a picture from a coloring book or something similar on a piece of paper. Place the Shrink Art Plastic over the picture (if using the 2 liter bottle cut around at shoulder and base and then from top to bottom so when spread it will form a rectangle. The plastic will retain its curve so should be used for a picture with action where the curve can be included in the design, like a butterfly.) Tape pattern to cardboard then tape plastic over pattern with masking tape. Trace all lines with the Sharpie pen, paint the areas with glass stain or glue paint and allow to dry. When dry remove tape and cut out picture. Make a hole to hang and thread fishing line through the hole and tie with overhand knot.

PAPER SACK PUPPETS
by Bluebonnet Crafters

Materials:

Instructions:

This can be used for any age but is great for littlest crafters. Tell a story, then let the children make their puppet as one of the characters in the story or let the children write their own story and illustrate it with the puppets. Let their imaginations guide them, you just assist with the "HOW-TO". As you look at the bag the fold is the mouth, the hand goes into the bag with the fingers working the upper part of the face and the arm becomes the neck.

Cut a piece of construction paper for the face the same size as the bottom of the sack and glue it in place on the bottom of the sack

Place the sack flat on the table with the folded bottom facing up. Slightly above the fold centered horizontally will be the puppet's nose. This can be made by gluing a pompom, a button or drawing it with your crayons. Above and on either side of the nose make the eyes. Again, they can be drawn or buttons, wiggle eyes, etc. can be used.

Lift the fold and centered horizontally draw the inside of the mouth in a large oval from the edge of the fold down to the crease. Teeth can be drawn in and a piece of red construction paper cut to look like a tongue glued in the center of the mouth.

Add hair by drawing it on or glue yarn and trim around the face. To dress your puppet add a bow just below the fold area for a collar and either glue or draw the clothing. It is only necessary to decorate the top side of the sack, then the children can put their hand inside with their hand over the fold and work the puppet following the story.
