Each full rose is composed of fifteen petals or more.
With your beading wire wrap around the folded stamens or substitute
anchoring it to the covered floral wire stem. The first three
petals are overlapped slightly and rolled around the stamens (or
a piece of yellow fringed tissue/Crepe Paper used as a substitute)
to form the center of the rose. Be sure you keep your petals level
as you roll them. Wrap a piece of beading wire around the base
of your petals to anchor them to the stem wire and the stamens.
If your rose center is tightly closed you may not need the stamens.
The second row consists of five petals. These are also overlapped
slightly and arranged around the rose center so that all the petal
edges are staggered. Wrap with beading wire to hold this row of
petals to the stem wire and the rose center.
Row three is composed of seven petals, again overlapped slightly
and staggered as you arrange them to form the outer layer of your
rose. Wrap with beading wire anchoring the outer layer of petals
to the rose base being careful to keep the tops of your petals
level to give your rose a more natural look. Cover the base of
the rose down onto the stem wire with floral tape pulling it gently
so it will stick to itself as you roll.
The top corners of each petal should be rolled to the outside
around a pencil or small dowel. If using Crepe Paper you can stretch
the edge of the petal slightly to ruffle it.
Leaf:
For each leaf cut two leaf shapes. Place the beading wire
in the center of the leaf between the two and glue in place. Cover
the wire with floral tape and add along the rose stem wire as
needed.
