Measure in from the outside edge of the cardboard one inch on all sides and draw a rectangle that size. Using the nail punch a hole in the middle of the drawn box and with your scissors cut from the hole almost to the box that you drew. Make several cuts on each side and then cut each of these wedges out leaving a frame with a smooth cut edge both inside and out.

Using your permanent marker write your message (example "Do Not Disturb, Homework Happening!") centered so that it will show through the opening of your frame.

Spread craft glue around the frame and center it over your card stock or posterboard and allow to dry. Using the nail or ice pick punch two holes, one in each corner at the top of the frame going all the way through the posterboard on the back. Thread your jute through the hole and tie a knot, bring the other end to the hole on the other side and repeat.

Now it is ready to hang on the door to warn everyone you are busy.
