: my sister and I have matching black 15 inch black vinyl dolls purchased sometime between 1972-1976 made by Shindana Toy Co. They look like the baby Zuri but they are dark skinned with curly hair styled in two pigtales. They are in good condition and we would like to know the name and value of the dolls.

Whatever you do, hold on to your dolls. These dolls are very hard to find dolls. Look up the history of the Shindana Dolls, and you will see why you should keep them. I am not sure if you or your sister have any children, but those dolls will be a very very nice heirloom. In fact todays black dolls are made scarce. After I recently called a few of the major toy companies and asked about replacing my daughter's dolls that were under manufacturer's warranty, I was told that the dolls were discontinued. Of course I am complaining about this problem because I paid $100.00 for one of them and $49.99 for the other one, so the only thing the company could offer me was a coupon for $10.00 and the next edition of the AA doll coming out soon, which is also gonna be limited too. So, after going through this I recently started collecting AA dolls, and doing my research on them. If you have any questions you can email if you like. Lastly, enjoy your dolls and if you decide that you don't want to keep them, I will be glad to make you and your sister an offer. Thank you!
