You can take all you need off of the shoulder and leave the sleeve as is, unless it is way to long for you. And as for shoulder pads, just tuck one in when you are trying it on and see what it looks like to you. Most anything looks better with a little shoulder pad when you are on the hippy side. It is a good balance.
