I've had lots of old slip dry or thicken and I've had better luck with the almost rock solid stuff than the thick. It is a slow, tiring process - I would add distilled water, sort of shake it around and wait a few days, then push and hack away to get it going, I used a big, stainless steel utility spoon to sort of chop it up. Then a bit more water and back to the hard part. It takes a while and you do have to really mix it after you get to where you can stir it, maybe use an electric drill and mixing attachment - and - there is still a chance it won't work. But on the other hand, if it does, you've got good, free slip. If you get it mixed you could test it on a small mold and see what happens. Kiln magic, maybe!!! Regards, : A friend gave me some old porcelain slip. It has kinda dryed out.Can I save it?Can I add distilled water or what?
