I have been using frozen slip for quite some time, and never had this problem. In my experience, the only caveat to using frozen slip is the need for additional prep--stir, strain, stir, strain, etc. Once I have it "like new" again, I put into clean jugs, and label accordingly. The only color issue I've ever had was slip that looked like the wrong color in SFGW, but once it was fired to bisque, everything was fine. (You didn't mention if your firing was the soft or bisque fire.) The only thing I can think of is that perhaps someone mislabled the jugs. I'll be curious about additional responses to this mysterious issue. Blessings.......
