36" doll inquiry

We lived in Ottawa Canada in the 50th and we rec'd a 36" doll. I've had a doll clinic look it over and she thought it was a Levia Milano Brevettato doll.
Also, over the 50 & early 60s we bought smaller dollars from about 6" to 10". The lady at the doll clinic thought they were a mix of Duchess & Toni & Storybook dolls.
Can anyone advise where I could do more research?
