Paperdoll collectors may be interested in the following: One of the last surviving artists who created paperdolls for Whitman and Lowe in the 1940s--1970s in Nan Pollard. She also created numerous colorig books for the above publishers. Now she
is being recognized and honored in her hometown of Kenosha WI. Beginning this week, and running through Oct. 9, the Pollard Gallery, 514 56th St., Kenosha, WI 53140, will be selling reprints of some of Nan's coloring books as part of a coloring contest open ONLY to those over 50 (and no fair getting help from the kids). More information about this unique coloring contest is available by calling The Copy Center, (262)654-9030, or visiting "Got Crayons, Kenosha?" page on Facebook. Contestants will choose one of the pages from their choice from among 6 reprints of Nan's coloring books. Those who enter the contest will select one of the colored pages and submit it by Sept. 30. On Oct. 9, Kenosha WI school children will select winners. Winning entrants will have their work framed and displayed in the Pollard Gallery in Kenosha.
