Bogus Vintage Vogue Tags for Sale on Ebay

We recently purchased supposedly vintage Vogue tags on eBay, which are currently being sold again --in private listings. Just wanted to warn folks that these do NOT look like genuine vintage tags to us in person. We got the silver ones that are supposed to be from the early 50s and found that they don't look at all like other tags that we have. They have a shiny front but a completely different, grainy texture on the back --which they don't picture in their listings. The string is a much lighter blue than pictured and there are places where it looks like the tags were hand cut. Additionally, unlike our other tags, there is no impression of the circle from being machine stamped. Our best guess is that these are counterfeit tags created by a computer printer, so be forewarned and DO NOT PURCHASE, regardless of the seller's high feedback score and claim that she found the tags with her five sister's doll collection! THEY LOOK BOGUS!!
