Yes, I just checked my Ginny and her patent number is on a raised line. THanks so much for
answering and ending the mystery!! Should I assume there aren't lots of these "overstamps"
around? (As compared to the 1954 PLW Patent Pending dolls?)
Joan

: Vogue usually used whatever stock they had on hand and, after acquiring the patent number, many of the dolls were stamped over the area where it had originally said "patent pending", so the numbers are actually on a raised line. (We've had a number of 55 and even 56 dolls like this.) Check to see if that area of her back is raised.

: : Hi, I have a straight leg, painted lash walker Ginny doll, 1954. From my research, I can only find that the back of the 1954 PLW doll had stamped, "Patent Pending", as the Patent # were issued the next year. My Ginny is all original, yet she has a Patent Number on her back. Is this a rare Ginny or is this common?
