Pend." bodies and bodies with the actual patent number. Since the two types of bodies were the same size, and the painted lash and molded lash heads were also about the same size, the factory workers may have decided to just put the numbered patent bodies on some remaining painted lash heads before going to the newer molded lash style. There's no way to know how many were made like this, but I imagine that dolls like yours could be hard to find. Another possibility is that a doll owner, somewhere down the line, made a body swap with a newer body for the older painted lash head. Good question! : Hi, I have a straight leg, painted lash walker Ginny doll, 1954. From my research, I can only find that the back of the 1954 PLW doll had stamped, "Patent Pending", as the Patent # were issued the next year. My Ginny is all original, yet she has a Patent Number on her back. Is this a rare Ginny or is this common?
