Hello!

My name is Vuthy Ou and my wife and I are looking for a small contract sewing company to produce pants.

Some info on the pants:

Men's Dress Pants
Black 99% Poly/1% Lycra Blend in a Mini-Crepe Weave
Fabric Must be Washed before construction.
No pockets
Sewn-In crease in the front
Unhemmed Length

We've got patterns, samples, pictures, and detailed construction instructions for sizes 30, 32, 34, and 36. It takes our current seamstress a little under 3 hours to make one pair, but we are growing beyond her capacity, but we don't have the capital to purchase 200 units from a large manufacturer.

Ideally, we're looking for a small company that can produce 20-50 pairs per month. However, the quality must be high and our seamstress told us to ask the following:

1) Have you done any tailoring (suits) or tailoring alterations? On pants?

2) Have you constructed a pair of pants with a fly zipper?

3) Have you worked with stretch material? What sort of garment? (a tee-shirt is not complex enough - a skirt with a zipper might do. Pants would be best.)

4) Do you have or do you have access to a serger?

5) How much time would it take you to construct a pair of pants from stretch material with topstitched front pleat, fly with fly extension, belt loops, separate, tailored, elasticized waistband, and both hook / bar
and button closure at the waist?
6) Are you comfortable constructing a suit jacket? In a couple of months, we'd like to start producing a suit jacket with the same material and we'd prefer to use the same contractor for both.

7) Would you be willing to source materials for us? (Handle buying material, hooks/bars, elastic, etc. when you run out?)

We attached a picture of the pants. Note the wide belt loops and sewn-in crease. The picture attached is a pair of pants made from 100% Poly, the fabric we are using now (99%/1% Lycra Mini-Crepe) drapes much better.

So here are our major questions:
1) Do you do runs of 25-50 units?
2) What are your turnaround times?
3) In addition to patterns and instructions, do you need a sample in each size, or just one size?
4) Is there any option for on-demand production? As in, we can order one pant at a time, as we receive orders?
5) If possible, what would you estimate the cost per unit to be? The pants currently cost us $70 per pair, including time and materials. As a note, it takes our current seamstress an average of 3 yards of material per pair and just over 2.5 hours of labor.

Responding via email is best, but my # is 812.746.8744

Thanks in advance for the response!
Vuthy
