Shirley Temple look alike composition doll

Hello,
I have a unmarked Shirley Temple composition doll. I've had her for going on 20 years now and don't know much about her. She is gorgeous but is not marked. I've read somewhere that some are marked inside their heads. Is this true and can I find out WITHOUT taking her head off?
