"The Genuine Jiffy"

My mother's composition doll is about 12 1/2 inches tall and wears a one piece jumpsuit with a zipper up the front. The label on his jumpsuit reads "The Genuine Jiffy" He is not in great shape, as he is missing the front of one foot and has a number of cracks. Can anyone tell me anything about his origins? I think he is from the 20's to 40's era.
