Doll ID

I own a doll that is of the 1940/50 erea frm when I was a child. There are no markings on this doll that can be found. Doll has a belly butotn that when pushed shakes his head NO, also a button on hi sback that shakes his head YES when pushed. All mechanical. Doll appears painted, made of some type composition material ... like new. Has complete original clothing, shoes, socks, shorts, jersey.
I am not collector but would like to ID this doll. Any information will be appreciated. Can send photos.
