Help solve the case of the darling doll, identity unknown.Posted by Amanda Greene on September 22, 2009 at 18:34:12: This is my greatgrandma's doll, and I'd love to find out more about it. I've looked her over very carefully, inside and out, and find no maker name, mold marks, or identifying information of any kind. She is approximately 10" tall, and not bisque or cloth - composition, I think (or papier mache). Her head and limbs all articulate - not on ball and joint sockets, but via some kind of stretchy cord inside her torso which is attached to each arm and leg with a metal hook. She has a set of what looks to me to be home-made clothing. I know that she dates to at least the late 1920's (she's in a photo from 1929), but that's all I know, and would love to have some information about her!
