questions re German doll

I have in my possession a doll from the @nd World war that is supposed to be German.It is about 22Inches long and its eyes close when laying down and can spaeak although I don't know if it works.It has asoft body and ahard face,with a red Dress and a white hat.
Can some one tell me more about it.It is definetly old.
